Peninsula
Hospital Auxiliary is made up of over 200 members. Their contributions to the
Hospital Center are many and diverse – member volunteers can be found working
collaboratively with the American Cancer Society distributing daffodils and a
smile to cancer patients in the spring as well as greeting and directing
visitors in the lobby. Our Auxiliary volunteers also enthusiastically run
successful book sales, flower sales and jewelry sales for the purpose of raising
money for the Hospital Center.
“Our service group depends upon many small
donations to make up large donations to
the Hospital Center,” says Sheila Schwartz, President. Over the past four years
alone, the Peninsula Hospital Auxiliary has donated nearly $25,000.00 which has
been utilized for such worthwhile projects such as the hospital’s
acquisition of
new state-of-the-art mammography technology.
The
Peninsula Hospital Auxiliary meets every first Tuesday of every month for a
combination social and informative luncheon
meeting
at the Hospital Center. Membership and guests are usually addressed by a member
of the Hospital Center’s staff who explains new programs, services, procedures,
new treatments available at the Hospital Center or, on a health topic of
particular concern such as emergency preparedness.
