Cardiology

The Cardiology Department at Peninsula Hospital Center is a well-respected one, staffed by skilled physicians who provide a wide spectrum of non-invasive cardiac diagnostic testing and therapy.  The tests include thallium, sestambi and myoview stress testing with SPECT imaging technology, echocardiology, color-flow Doppler, Magnetic Resonance Angiography (MRA) and holder monitoring.  Peninsula Hospital Center is one of the most progressive cardiology programs in the area.

Additionally, the Hospital Center’s application for a CON for a new $9 Million Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory was recently approved by the New York State Department of Health and construction on this exciting project is due to commence shortly.  Following its completion date, Peninsula Hospital Center will be the only hospital center featuring a cardiac cath lab on the South Shore of Queens County, the Rockaways and the Five Towns of Nassau County.  The Hospital Center’s cardiology volumes continue to grow and this is a much-needed and exciting expansion of the hospital’s cardiac services.

This program is in collaboration with the Long Island Jewish Medical Center which received New York State’s #1 ranking in 2006 for its Angioplasty success rate.
