Pharmacy

At Peninsula Hospital Center, pharmacists are an integral part of your healthcare delivery team. It is our job to help ensure the safest and most effective use of your medications. Our pharmacists work closely with you, your physicians and other caregivers to meet your specific health needs.

The pharmacy staff dispenses all of your medications in ready to administer unit-dose packaging and will always check your medication file for possible allergies, drug interactions and proper dosage.  The medications you receive in the hospital may not be the exact medications you are used to taking but they will be in the same class and will be just as effective as your own medication.  Our nursing staff or your physician will tell you if they have to substitute a medication you were previously taking and our pharmacy staff will address any concerns you might have about your medications.  We believe that you should understand all the medications you are taking and why you are taking them so asking questions is always encouraged.
