Ophthalmology
 

Peninsula Hospital Center offers comprehensive services in its Opthalmology Department ranging from the routine and diagnostic eye exams to visual aids for the visually impaired to pediatric ophthalmology.  The optical dispensary provides a full range of products including glasses, contact lenses and sunglasses.

 Diagnostic testing includes visual fields to define peripheral vision, fluroscein angiography for the diabetic eye, retinopathy for macular degeneration and ocular ultrasonography to explore the area behind the eye.  Surgical ophthalmology specialists perform no-stitch cataract repairs, refractive surgery, ocular plastics (eyelid and tear duct), corneal transplant, glaucoma surgery, vitreo-retinal surgery, neuron-opthalmic surgery and Laser scanning.

 

 

PHC’s Opthalmology Department staff can often be found at local health fairs doing free screenings for glaucoma.
